Cortijo la Mata - A brief history and a few words from my guests
Shortly after returning to Granada after spending five years living and working in Barcelona I discovered this old Andalusian farrmhouse on sale on the Internet by sheer chance. I took a trip out to take a look and as soon as I arrived fell in love with the place. As luck would have have it I had just sold a cottage I owned on the banks of Loch Lomond in Scotland for several years so decided to make an offer. I got the keys in April of that year and thus began a frenzied period of activity to get the cortijo ready for the all important summer season. It was hard work but finally by the middle of July Cortijo la Mata opened its doors to its first paying guests. All that is history now and since then many guests have relaxed around the pool or in front of the chimney and I have made many friends. I'm enclosing a few of their kind words for you all to share.
